New Stormwater Remediation Fee Regulations

Since 2013, property owners in Baltimore have paid a stormwater fee to help clean up the Chesapeake Bay, based on the amount of impervious surface on their land. But did you know that certain non-profits can get the fee waived, and that you can get your fee reduced by volunteering or doing simple things like putting rain barrels and trees in your yard? The Department of Public Works recently updated these regulations to make them friendlier, for example reducing the number of volunteer hours required for a fee credit.
