The Baltimore Energy Challenge is a program of the Office of Sustainability in partnership with Civic Works and the Baltimore Community Foundation. Since 2009, the Baltimore Energy Challenge has helped thousands of residents across the City reduce their energy usage through grassroots peer-to-peer engagement in our neighborhoods, schools, business and faith communities.

To find out more on how you can become an Energy Captain or how to receive a FREE energy saving installation visit the Baltimore Energy Challenge website.

Community Engagement Program

The Community Engagement Program continues to partner with neighborhoods, schools, churches and businesses throughout Baltimore proving that a grassroots, word-of-mouth campaign can make a difference one person at a time. Our AmeriCorps Energy Educators are available to attend community, school, and church meetings or to meet with small businesses to talk about the program and how to change behavior to reduce energy use. Email info@baltimorenergychallenge.org or call 443-869-2614 for more information or to schedule someone to speak to your organization, group of neighbors or faith community.
